Three doctors said 'ears were clear.' So why won't he stop pulling at them?

Why does my baby keep grabbing the same ear — when the doctor keeps saying it's fine?

No fever. No infection. Just that little hand, going back to the ear again and again — and a reason no one at the appointment had time to explain.

Designed by Clinical Aromatherapists

Diluted for Sensitive Baby Skin

Built for Simple, Safe Use

It always opens the same way...

Baby keeps grabbing their ear.

Rubbing the cheek on that side. Shaking their head like they're saying no. Drool everywhere, hands jammed in the mouth. And the first place your brain goes — every single time — is ear infection.

“Is this really teething… or am I missing something?”

“Should I give medicine? Or is that too much?”

“Am I overreacting? Or not reacting enough?”

“Why does every article say something different?”

👉 Doctor looks in the ear, and says the words you've heard more than once: "Ears are clear. It's probably teething." Relief… for about a week. Then it's back. And now you're stuck in the worst place of all — not sure whether to trust the verdict or sit through another waiting room.

You're not "that mom."

The symptoms genuinely look like an infection.

We talked to thousands of parents. Here's what they told us:

👉 Teething and ear infections share almost every sign — the ear-pulling, the cheek-rubbing, the misery, the bad nights. Of course you thought infection. Trusting your gut and getting it checked is exactly the right call. The problem isn't your instinct. The problem is that nobody explained why a perfectly healthy ear can hurt this much..

“I love that it’s gentle and not numbing. It feels way safer than other options.”

Here's what's actually happening

The pain isn't in the ear. It's the nerve.

👉 The gums, the jaw, and the ear all sit on the same nerve highway — the trigeminal nerve. When a new tooth pushes up through the gum, the pain travels along that nerve and gets felt in and around the ear and cheek. Doctors call it referred pain.

👉 So your baby reaches for the place it hurts — even though the ear itself is completely healthy. That's why a teething baby can look exactly like a baby with an ear infection.

This is why teethers and gels keep missing it

You were never going to numb a tooth into submission.

We talked to thousands of parents. Here's what they told us:

Teething Gels & Tablets

Choking concerns. Dosing anxiety. Plus, the FDA has issued warnings about some teething gels containing benzocaine.

Frozen Teethers

Most babies reject them (too cold, too hard). They get gross quickly. And they end up on the floor, covered in dog hair and regret.

Medication (Tylenol/Ibuprofen)

Has a place for severe pain, but not every teething moment requires medication.

"Just Wait It Out"

This feels wrong when your baby is clearly uncomfortable. You want to help, you just don't want to make things worse.

👉 Think about where every other product goes. The teether, the gel, the cold ring — all aimed at the gum. But the pain your baby is reaching for isn't in his mouth right now. It's traveling up the nerve to his ear and cheek. The thing that actually helps is calming the nerve — right where the pain lands.

“I love that it’s gentle and not numbing. It feels way safer than other options.”

Our pediatrician said teething is just something you have to get through. But watching my son cry for hours every night felt wrong. Obvira gave us a tool that actually works. The external-use approach was exactly what we needed - no worrying about him swallowing anything, just gentle relief.

    Give it a go

Was skeptical on wether this stuff would work or even turn up as i followed an ad link through instagram, but arrived pretty quick for international shipping (im in new zealand)

Obvira sent me a free bottle of mamas hush with my order (thank you!)

Have been using mamas hush as a last ditch tool to get our 4mnth to sleep and it has worked wonders!

Instantly settles her and she sleeps well with it on. Shes usually a 20min napper through the day but this stuff gets her to nap anywhere

    from 1-2hrs.

Will definately be using the mamas teether when the time arrives after seeing how well the hush has worked for our wee dot.

    Was skeptical but It works!

I saw this on an instagram ad that kept on coming up on my newsfeed. I read the good and bad reviews. Once I read the bad reviews, I decided not to buy. I didn’t want to waste money on another products. Months went by and I saw it again. I had a feeling to buy it, to give it a try. After a month from purchasing my daughter started teething and I remembered that I had a roller. I tried it and worked! Next day, which is today, I’m putting her down for her nap time but she sounds like she is having discomfort and rubbing her ears. I get the roller and roll behind her ears all the way to her jawline and she fallls asleep instantly. So I definitely know this thing is working.

    Never got to use it.

My roller arrived broken. Couldn't even use it. For the price you pay, it should have been in perfect condition
